  • See Baton Rouge-based folk five-piece Minos the Saint at Perkins Rowe’s Rock N Rowe fall concert series, which takes place every Thursday until Oct. 18 from 6 to 9 p.m.
  • Local acts Dubya, Riverside Blues and _thesmoothcat & The 9th Life play the Varsity Theatre. Doors open at 8 p.m. and show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door. Buy tickets here.

  • Tin Roof Brewing Company and Gnarly Barley release their new collaboration brew “Liger” in honor of the LSU vs. SLU matchup this weekend. Live music will be provided and food will be done by Rock Paper Taco and Barbosa’s Barbeque. 4 to 10 p.m.
  • The 501st, Shipwrecked and Heavy Mantle perform at Mid City Ballroom. 8 to 11 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance online or $10 at the door. Buy tickets here.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 8

  • The first home game of the season is finally here. The LSU Tigers take on the Southeastern Lions at 6 p.m. in Death Valley.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 9

  • Learn the basics of macrame at a guided workshop hosted by Baton Rouge Succulent Co. and Heart over Harvest, and pot your own succulent plant after. 2 to 6 p.m. Purchase tickets to Macrame and Mimosas here.

  • The LSU Olinde Career Center puts on its annual Fall Career Expo Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the PMAC. Day one is STEM focused and day two is business and liberal arts focused. Students can find more information here.

  • The LSU Graduation Fair is Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the LSU Bookstore. 
  • Free beginner Yoga on the Lakes at BREC’s Milford Wampold Memorial Park at 7 p.m.
