  • Rêve Coffee Lab hosts the next Latte Art Throwdown at White Star Market on Government Street. $5 to pour, free to watch. 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 31

  • Lafayette-based pop band GIVERS perform at Spanish Moon. Tickets are $15, and the show starts at 9 p.m.

  • Xavier University’s “Institutionally Aggravated” debuts at the HopKins Black Box Theatre. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free. Learn more about the production here.

  • To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Yellow Submarine is playing at the Manship Theatre at 7 p.m. Tickets are $6.50 and can be bought on the Manship Theatre’s website.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 1

  • Wizards and muggles alike are invited to the Harry Potter Extravaganza at the Main Library at Goodwood for the series’ 20th anniversary. The event is free and starts at 3 p.m. RSVP here.

  • Gymfit Fest: Cirque and Movement Festival is a free event, including workshops, performances, live music and more at the Galvez Plaza/Repentance Park in downtown Baton Rouge from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. 
  • Stock up on fresh food and artisan goods at the Red Stick Farmers Market at 5th and Main streets downtown. 8 a.m. to noon.
