LSU coach Paul Mainieri talks to his players during the Tigers' 9-4 win against University of South Alabama on Wednesday March 14, 2018, at Alex Box Stadium.

LSU baseball will be well represented this summer at Team USA as three Tigers will accompany coach Paul Mainieri this July for the event.

Joining Mainieri will be senior outfielder Antoine Duplantis, junior outfielder Zach Watson and pitcher Zack Hess.

The team will open up in North Carolina where it will start a friendly series with Chinese Taipei on June 28-July 2, compete against Japan from July 3-9 and then head to Cuba from July 13-18 for the third and final series.

Hess will have a familiar catcher traveling with him as LSU bullpen catcher Trent Forshag will join Team USA as the bullpen coach. Hiring Forshag was one of the first things Mainieri did after getting the news he’d coach the team.

Mainieri served as an assistant for Team USA back in 2015 but this will be his first time as head coach.
